Cervical Radiculopathy

Cervical radiculopathy occurs when one or more of the nerve roots in the cervical spine are being compressed or irritated. This is commonly referred to as “pinched nerve.” This condition can cause neck pain and/or pain radiating down the arms. This can also result in neurological changes including numbness, weakness in the shoulder, arm, hand or fingers. Some of the causes for cervical radiculopathy include a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. Some of the treatments for cervical radiculopathy are physical therapy, medications, steroid injections and surgical interventions.
